Lawachara is a small monsoon forest in the Nothe East of Bangladesh. These hoolocks are living there for thousands of years but now their number is only around 60. Only 12 families are living there surrounded by human habitation and paddy fields. In 1980 the total Hoolock population in Bangladesh was 3000, now it is only near 300. If special care is not given to maintain and expand the habitat and it's quality, they will extinct like many other habitat in Bangladesh.
